Fitzpatrick Skin Types

The below settings are for a gauge that reads 30 inches/Hg on a microdermabrasion machine: See below settings

• (10-12 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick I – skin type is very fair, skin is highly sensitive to sunlight. Burns easily. Difficulty maintaining a tan.
• (10-12 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick II – skin type is fair, skin is susceptible to sunburns. Slightly difficult to maintain a tan.
• (8-10 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick III – skin type is slightly fair, skin burns from sun exposure. Develops a slight, medium tan.
• (8 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick IV – skin type is a medium complexion. Develops a long-lasting tan. Slightly burns easily.
• (6-8 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick V – skin type is enriched with a medium to dark complexion. Natural tan. Does not burn easily.
• (6-8 inches/Hg) Fitzpatrick VI – skin type is dark complexion, does not burn easily.
